Weekly Prayer: Waiting Well
“I have trusted in Your mercy;
My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation.
I will sing to the LORD, because He has dealt bountifully with me.”
—Psalm 13:5–6
Waiting is not passive.
It’s not stagnant.
And it’s not empty.
Waiting—when done in the presence of God—is weighty, sacred, and often refining.
Scripture is full of stories of those who waited:
Abram left everything, trusting the Lord for a future unseen.
Jacob waited through famine.
Moses wandered with a purpose.
Ruth bore sorrow and remained faithful.
Mary endured loss with unwavering surrender.
The early Church waited in prayer for the promised Spirit.
To wait well means to remain steadfast in the truth of who God is.
He is merciful. He is faithful. He is good. And He will do what He said He will do.
As you wait—whatever your season may look like—may your soul rise up and sing of His mercy. May you rejoice in His salvation and believe with full confidence that He will deal bountifully with you.
Weekly Prayer: Waiting Well:
Father,
Thank You that You are good. Thank You that You are trustworthy.
You are who You say You are, and You do what You say You will do.
Grant us grace to understand Your great love—that Your eye is upon us, and You delight in our wellbeing.
Teach us to wait with hope, not despair.
Help us endure in seasons of drought with longsuffering—refusing to give in to fear or doubt.
Send Your Spirit to strengthen and encourage us. May we be found faithful in the waiting.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
